Shipping process

  • 1. If you have accepted our price quote for transporting your car, we will fax or e-mail the Shipping Agreements to you.
  • 2. You need to sign and return to us with your deposit in the form of credit card.
  • 3. As soon as we received your signed agreements and deposit, we will begin scheduling your car for transport.
  • 4. When a transporter has been assigned, the driver will contact the person at origin to schedule a time for pick up. Our drivers are instructed to contact the customer 12-24 hours in advance to give an exact time that your car will be shipped.
  • 5. The vehicle will be picked up at or as close to your location as possible. The transporter trucks are 80 feet long, weigh close to 80,000 lbs and are almost 14 feet high. They are therefore very hard to maneuver and are restricted to main roads that do not have any overhanging tree branches, low clearance bridges, or wires.
  • 6. The driver will do an inspection of your vehicle when he arrives for pick up on a Bill of Landing. Both the customer and the driver will sign the Bill of Landing and will give a copy to the person at origin
  • 7. Your vehicle will be loaded and will be in transport to your destination. The driver will be making stops along the way to load and unload additional vehicles that he has scheduled to move.
  • 8. Coast-to-coast trips usually take between 10 and 14 days and shorter trips range from 3 to 10 days but if your vehicle is not delivered within 3 weeks ROYAL AUTO TRANSPORT, INC. will pay $30.00 per day for your rent a car. The 3 weeks starts from the day that our carrier picked up your vehicle. It doesn't include Hawaii, Alaska and Canada. The driver will call within12- 24 hours of delivery to set up a time for delivering your vehicle
  • 9. At destination the driver will give another copy of bill of lading to you. It is your responsibility to inspect the car and to note any pre-existing damage. Please be certain to note any damage not already on the Bill of Lading prior to signing the form.
  • 10. Should there be any damage, contact ROYAL AUTO TRANSPORT, INC. If the entire transport fee has not been prepaid, then upon delivery the balance is due to the driver in the form of cash, money order or cashier check only.
